UNITED CAPS Dinnington Strikes Gold!

We are delighted to announce that UNITED CAPS has been recognised with the prestigious Golden Bridge Award for the establishment of our state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Dinnington, Sheffield, UK.

The Golden Bridge Award is presented annually by the Belgian and Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom, to the most successful Belgian and Luxembourg companies trading or investing in the UK.

Collecting the award on behalf of UNITED CAPS at an event held at the Belgian Residence in London on Thursday 24th November 2022 were CEO Benoit Henckes, Chief Project Officer, Rony Van Regenmortel and Plant Director UK & Ireland, Paul Gorry.

Mr Henckes remarked that the success of the new Dinnington facility was a powerful endorsement of the UNITED CAPS “Close To You” strategy adding that “The combination of food and non-food caps and closures, as well as our ability to produce bespoke closures, which represents about 50% of our business, has placed us in an optimum position to continue growing and expanding in the UK and Ireland.”

New Sustainability Report Available Now!

UNITED CAPS continued its industry-leading sustainability position with the release of an updated, downloadable report, where interested parties can find information about UC’s sustainability activities. The report details ongoing progress toward a net-zero carbon footprint and a circular economy for plastics, while continuing to deliver caps that enhance the end-user experience for its customers’ brands. The ultimate aim being caps made from 100% renewable feedstocks or recycled plastic, using 100% green energy and made by a happy, secure workforce operating in a carbon neutral environment

UNITED CAPS INNOVATION TAKES CENTRE STAGE

One of the star attractions at the Drinktec Beverage show in Munich beginning on September 12th 2022 was the unveiling by UNITED CAPS of the MIMICA CAP, the exciting result of a collaboration between UNITED CAPS and MIMICA that rethinks what a cap can do and promises to help tackle food waste, at the same time as, fostering brand growth.

Demonstrating that sustainable packaging isn’t only about alternative materials and lighter closures, MIMICA freshness indication technology is fully integrated into a beverage cap enabling consumers, with just a swipe across the cap, to be able to tell if the contents are still drinkable, extending shelf life and reducing food waste.

Such was the excitement around the launch, Innovation Manager Benedict Reimann, was invited to fulfil a prestigious speaking engagement at the Drinktec Inspiration Hub to a packed audience.

UNITED CAPS sponsors and performs once again at the Plastic Closure Innovations Summit 2022

This year edition will take place physically at the World Trade Center in Barcelona from June 7th to 9th 2022.

UNITED CAPS will have the opportunity to show some of our latest tethered closures products developments, including our standard 26mm beverage : 26 H-SPARK and our bespoke screw cap for ELOPAK : the Pure-TwistFlip 29i - which were launched recently, as well as some of our high quality Infant Nutrition closures : the 127 SAFE-TE and the bespoke hinge cap for BIOSTIME. UNITED CAPS first participation at the Packshow Bucharest 2022!

After a long break, UNITED CAPS is starting this year events season with the PACKSHOW Bucharest 2022, one the biggest venue at European standards for packaging industry specialists.
Pack Show welcomes producers, importers and suppliers of packaging, packaging materials, machines and dedicated equipment alike.

Hubert J Gaasch

It is with profound sadness that we share the news that Hubert Gaasch - Member of the UNITED CAPS Board of Directors, passed away on 26th September 2021, aged 75 years, as the result of a tragic accident.

Hubert has been a pioneering spirit and driving force in our organisation since the 1970’s and his legacy is forever entwined with that of UNITED CAPS. A man of significant vision, he joined Resibel in Hoboken and set about growing the company through partnerships and acquisitions until early in the 21st Century when he created PROCAP.

By the time of his retirement from day to day operations in 2013 and subsequent continued involvement as a Member of the Board of Directors, Hubert had grown the company to a significant European scale. It is a major achievement in life to leave things better than one found them and Hubert had the desire, skill and tenacity to accomplish that.

All at UNITED CAPS mourn his loss together with his family, to whom we send our most heartfelt condolences.

We are blessed to have known and learned from Hubert as we continue his work.
