10 - 12 NOVEMBER 2015 – UNITED CAPS WOWED AT BRAUBEVIALE 2015

UNITED CAPS truly stood out among the exhibitors at BrauBeviale 2015 that took place in Nürnberg, Germany, on 10-12 November. Not only did we have the opportunity to showcase our highly-innovative standard and bespoke closure solutions dedicated to the beverages industry, but we were also able to present our new brand identity and growth strategy to more than 38,000 trade show visitors. Participants came from across Europe and further afield.

Of particular note at the event – and gaining lots of attention – was our original petal-shaped user-friendly screw cap for Wattwiller’s mineral waters, a real brand-defining design. Among our advanced standard closure solutions, PROGLASS, PROSPARK and PROSPRING also proved to be of great interest to those present.

BrauBeviale 2015 was our first trade event under our new name and conversations with visitors indicated that UNITED CAPS’s ambition to expand our horizons and be closer to customers are very welcome to players in the beverage industry world.

NOV 2015 - UNITED CAPS OFFICIALLY OPENS ADVANCED MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN SCHWERIN – THE NEXT STEP ON ITS ROAD TO GREATER GROWTH

Today, UNITED CAPS unveiled and officially inaugurated its new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Schwerin, northern Germany. Currently equipped to produce closures for the beverages sector, the 10,000 m² plant will allow the company to capture business in the German beverages industry. Its location will also help UNITED CAPS realise and fulfil international opportunities, particularly in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.

The entire facility features two production halls, 12 silos and a hygiene sluice that ensures compliance with strict BRC Global Standards. The construction of two further manufacturing halls is planned for the future. The flow of goods has been designed for optimal productivity. Using a heat recovery system to heat the entire plant makes operations environmentally friendly.

UNITED CAPS acquired Schoeller Caps Systems (SCS) in Schwerin in 2013. The new Schwerin factory will help UNITED CAPS further complete its global footprint by being even closer to customers and meeting their needs wherever they are. It puts the company in an ideal position to fulfil its ambition of becoming the industry reference for plastics caps and closures for customers globally.

18 SEPTEMBER 2015 – UNITED CAPS WELL RECEIVED BY INTERNATIONAL PRESS

25 journalists from around the world, representing some of the industry’s most recognised on-line and print publications, as well as general media, joined us on 17 September in Hoboken, Belgium, to hear our industry-changing announcement and discover how our company is expanding its horizons.

Our new name and logo were very well received by everyone present. UNITED CAPS’s CEO Benoît Henckes outlined our new robust strategy for growth and explained how it will support UNITED CAPS’s ambition of becoming the industry reference in the plastic caps and closures business, close to customers. He also revealed the initiatives and activities that will help us achieve these goals.

Recently appointed Chief Innovation and Coaching Officer Philippe Thivet wowed the audience with some examples of UNITED CAPS’s vast innovative capabilities and product-defining solutions. He also described our unique approach to innovation and co-creating with customers and other partners.

Journalists then had the unique opportunity to see how UNITED CAPS’s highly-performant, reliable closures are manufactured during a tour of the company’s recently modernised and expanded Hoboken plant.

SEPT 2015 - PROCAP BECOMES UNITED CAPS

The official announcement of the new name and strategy was made at an international invitation-only press event at one of the company’s recently refurbished and extended manufacturing facilities in Hoboken, Belgium.

“Our move to becoming UNITED CAPS sets our direction for the future. It’s the beginning of the path to expanding our horizons. It represents our efforts to truly unite all the companies we’ve brought together. To create one culture, one DNA across the global group. We intend to partner with customers wherever they need us. Customer relationship management will be a central focus point – along with managing our portfolio, making operational efficiency gains and managing our innovation pipeline. We’ll be looking to increase the number of global accounts we already serve and grow the segments we’re active in. UNITED CAPS obtained its current UN certification based on tests of a 5L HDPE and Co-ex AgriChem containers sporting the 63mm PROCURVE closure solution. At UN level 3H1/Y1.4/130 with H²O (water) the closure demonstrated screwing torque below 6.0Nm when initially screwed following filling. Torque this low makes it very easy for the end user to open manually.

UNITED CAPS ASSURES RELIABILITY IN ELSA’S HIGHLY AUTOMATED ENVIRONMENT

Production facilities featuring high levels of automation require a closure that can assure a very low number of crooked caps. 38 PROFLATSEAL is that solution.
