UNITED CAPS innovations like DOUBLEFLOW - a single closure that offers dual function took a starring role at the 5th Plastic Closure Innovations Congress held in Berlin, Germany between June 6th - June 8th.

The Congress represented another key speaking engagement for the UNITED CAPS team who have been in considerable demand throughout 2017. Much like other audiences across several continents this year, the Berlin attendees, which consisted primarily of leading industry professionals from right through the supply chain were highly engaged by the presentation from UNITED CAPS Chief Marketing and Innovation officer Astrid Hoffmann-Leist and Project Development Manager, Sebastien Hottlet.

Key themes addressed were how the ability to get close to customers and RELATE to their needs informed breakthrough product development.

Continuing a global program of speaking engagements, a UNITED CAPS delegation will present the company’s latest innovative creations and showcase how the unique platform of RELATE, PERFORM and SUSTAIN fuels the UNITED CAPS innovation machine, enabling the creation of Differentiated Total Packaging Solutions.


Described by CEO Benoit Henckes as "fresh and differentiating" UNITED CAPS unveiled a brand new "high impact" booth at INTERPACK which showcased how the brand, product portfolio and latest innovations come together to enable Differentiated Total Packaging Solutions.

Featuring exciting new graphics, powerful messaging and innovative new product displays, the 150sqm booth proved popular with customers, media and staff alike. 

Chief Marketing Officer Astrid Hoffmann-Leist explained "Our booth at INTERPACK succeeded in telling the story of how our ability to RELATE, PERFORM and SUSTAIN enables the creation of Differentiated Total Packaging Solutions. We were able to provide a forum for customers to get excited about the possibilities of working with UNITED CAPS as well as our recent innovations like In-Mould Labelling and Bi-Injection.

Customer excitement was matched by media interest with a strong demand for 1to1 interviews with Benoit Henckes. A clever booth journey enabled customers to not only see products but also experience them in the 'play zone' and even take a look at the future with an immersive virtual reality app. To cap it all, a small cinema theatre showcased a new movie telling the story of UNITED CAPS brand!

UNITED CAPS truly stood out among the exhibitors at BrauBeviale 2015 that took place in Nürnberg, Germany, on 10-12 November. Not only did we have the opportunity to showcase our highly-innovative standard and bespoke closure solutions dedicated to the beverages industry, but we were also able to present our new brand identity and growth strategy to more than 38,000 trade show visitors. Participants came from across Europe and further afield.

Of particular note at the event – and gaining lots of attention – was our original petal-shaped user-friendly screw cap for Wattwiller’s mineral waters, a real brand-defining design. 25 journalists from around the world, representing some of the industry’s most recognised on-line and print publications, as well as general media, joined us on 17 September in Hoboken, Belgium, to hear our industry-changing announcement and discover how our company is expanding its horizons.

Our new name and logo were very well received by everyone present. UNITED CAPS’s CEO Benoît Henckes outlined our new robust strategy for growth and explained how it will support UNITED CAPS’s ambition of becoming the industry reference in the plastic caps and closures business, close to customers. He also revealed the initiatives and activities that will help us achieve these goals.

Recently appointed Chief Innovation and Coaching Officer Philippe Thivet wowed the audience with some examples of UNITED CAPS’s vast innovative capabilities and product-defining solutions. He also described our unique approach to innovation and co-creating with customers and other partners.

Journalists then had the unique opportunity to see how UNITED CAPS’s highly-performant, reliable closures are manufactured during a tour of the company’s recently modernised and expanded Hoboken plant.
